You guys haven't realized that I understood you perfectly and continued on with my ramblings because I'm a douchewaffle? For shame.

I think I mentioned a scene from this masterful film before but I watched it again recently and found this scene to be incredible.

I love how the castle burns down in particular. It was clearly a real building that was really slowly burnt down. No CGI or fancy special effects. It also symbolizes a number of factors regarding Hidetora (the old guy in the castle), but you wouldn't notice them unless you watch the film. It's one of the best ever made.

Guess I have to see Ran, then. In case you haven't seen it: You have to watch seven samurai, gilgamesh. It's also a Kurosawa film and it's quite seamless, amazing for its time.
As for Ran: King Lear + Kurosawa is a must see. I will watch it very soon.

Yes, I have seen it. It's been a very long time since I've seen it but I do remember it being very good. I've also seen Yojimbo. It's great too. It's the inspiration for A Fistful of Dolllars and shares lots of similarities to it.

The best part: Malcolm X actually did this in real life (though he Palmed the round so he wasn't going to die.)
