I am not trying to be clever, but what's the definition of a graphic novel as opposed to a comic book? I don't think we distinguish those in German.

Graphic novels are just a series of comic books that comprise a larger, self contained story.

I don't think a graphic novel is constituted as manga based on what culture produced it but rather based on the art style.

I think that's a mildly unfair statement, while I can agree that quite alot of Anne May eye's do look fucking dopey (One of the reasons I put Clannad on hold was because the eye's just look so stupid, sorry Jozoz, I'll get back to it eventually) you have to bear in mind that it really boils down to art direction and personal taste. Lyra pointed out that Akira has pretty decent eye's, it's just a matter of finding something that you can put up with.

The eyes in Clannad are fucking ridicoulus and one of the reason I like Monster so much is that the characters actually look like human beings.

The Walking Dead series. The books are better than the tv show #hipstalife

I'm not sure how hipster that is considering the popularity of the comics, #hipstalife would probably be more "I liked survival instinct".
