Watched several streams for a few hours, and several youtubers I like play it. Every single video I've seen of it looks terrible.
The music gets repetitive and sounds contrived really quickly. It doesn't mesh well with how low-poly and low-res the environments are.
The environments generated are disgusting. The worst of it entails clipping textures, resources improperly spawning, outright ugly landmasses.
The best I've seen was just mediocre, entire planets with one tiny color palette. And the actual gathering of resources? Encountering aliens?
What a slog. Most boring **** I have ever seen. Hostile drones have the lamest combat meta I've ever seen in a sandbox/resource gathering game.
Non-hostile aliens are just demented. Inventory management looks horrible.

Oh and as a few videos and people have pointed out, what is up with the lead designer alluding to multiplayer in a bunch of interviews?
Snake-oily as ****, pretty dirty when this game actually could have been redeeming with co-op or multiplayer.

Modded Minecraft looks prettier, funner, and more technically sound. Oh and I can play with friends so I don't want to kill myself after two hours of playing.
But I could also buy Subnautica for 1/3 of the price and much prettier, higher quality content, because the developers of Subnautica actually knew what they were doing.

I'd like to know what he thinks of Pathologic. Funny how he only reviews first person games, no matter what they are.

That was a great video. I'd rather replay a Metroid game, and explore one part of a planet in great detail, than fanny around a "universe" like an idiot, while feeling absolutely no sense of accomplishment. Even without the bugs.
