I agree with Gilgamesh. It really bothers me when a discussion/argument is getting heated and then someone says "oh it's just my opinion" to kind of cool it all down. It's precisely opinions that we are talking about

!!!

He started the video saying it's his subjective opinion. What other kind of an opinion even is there? I feel that some uploaders of videos just say it as a way of covering their arse from backlash, rather than standing by their words with conviction. What you're talking about is a bit different though. That's what could be classed as the generic you tube defense weapon. Someone will state an opinion about something, and if it gets contradicted, they turn around with the "it's my opinion" ****, rather than actually backing up the opinion that was questioned.

I think we're talking about the same thing. "opinion" is just a call to stop challenging, stop the backlash you're talking about. It's a call to individual liberty to have your own thoughts and to leave them alone.

The difference is there wasn't any argument meant to be sparked or addressed by the comment in the video. It's just gilgamesh taking issue with someone saying that they consider a game 10/10. They face no obligation to justify their opinion to anyone in that case, but the video goes to explain it anyway.

The difference between "I object to your opinion" and "I object to how you got to your opinion" gets blurred too easily on the internet, imo.

I don't get the difference. If I object to your opinion, aren't I objecting to the reasoning behind it too, which is "how you got to it"?

No, one's logic can be sound but their perspectives or what they value can be different from yours. On the other hand, if someone says something like "I like X because it has a good story" when the story is demonstrably ****, imo there's a reasonable complaint to be had there.

That's what makes it all the more redundant. It just takes away from what's to follow. If he said it at the end, it would probably be better, but ideally he shouldn't have said it at all.

The ignorance is strong in this one

I also played some of the REmake as Chris. He's certainly a lot tougher than Jill. I was bitten 4 times by the first zombie and didnt die, but made a comeback by knifing the ****** to death. I don't understand how people can somehow manage to beat bosses with the knife and go through the whole game just using it though. It's very hard to connect a strike without being attacked afterwards or before.
